Södra Kållands Parish is now looking for a choir director/organist at 100 % with a broad musical profile and commitment to choral singing, worship life, and meeting people of all ages.

About the position

As a church musician with us, you will be an important part of a musical team. The parish has a lively and solid choral activity, and you will work alongside several musicians with choral profiles in their roles.

We celebrate many services each year, and music plays a significant role – sometimes in classical church tradition, sometimes in other musical expressions and genres.

Responsibilities (selection)

· Music in worship services and church ceremonies

· Leading adult choirs and/or children's choirs

· Choir development in collaboration with other musicians

· Participation in concerts, themed services, and special music services

· Collaboration in teams and with volunteers

We are looking for someone who

· Is an educated choir director or organist according to the Church of Sweden's order, or has other relevant music education and documented experience in church music work

· Has a broad musical competence and moves comfortably between classical church music and other genres

· Plays organ and piano with confidence and musicality

· Has experience of – and joy in – leading choirs

· Is collaborative, flexible, and has a good pedagogical approach

· Has a B driver's license and access to a car

Södra Kållands Parish has approximately 5,300 members. Here you will find:

· 17 churches

· 4 parish halls (Råda, Järpås, Örslösa, and Tun)

· about 60 elected representatives

· many volunteers
